The Story of the Three Envelopes: Security, Packaging & Bubble!

A naïve online seller gets three valuable pieces of advice from his retiring manager in the form of three envelopes – the security envelopes, the packaging list envelope and the bubble wrap envelopes. Little does he know that these three envelopes will go on to make him more aware, reliable and successful in the online world.

Ashamed and humiliated, the newly appointed online seller hung up his cell phone after a stinker of a conversation with his new client. She was furious!

“The seal was out! Do you understand? In all possibilities, I’m sure someone tried to mess with my package. Was it someone from your organization? Was it you? Who was it?”

With drooping shoulders, he went back to his work table and opened the drawer. There it was, the first of the three envelopes that lay one of top of each other.

Using his thumb and index finger, he sat there trying to peel off the seal but it seemed like a joke. It was a shipping envelope after all, with a hot melt adhesive strip for easy closures. He drew his pocket knife out and slit it open to find a note safely and securely enclosed, and it read: “These security bags are a business must-have!”

His feelings of insecurity soon waned off as he ordered truckloads of security envelopes, one for each item on his vast portfolio. The furious customer called back, but this time she went gaga over the security envelope much as she appreciated his sweet gesture of a ‘sorry’ gift.

Days went by, his impressions were growing, but so were his challenges.

One day, the seller was disassembling parts of a brand new portable sports bike. It was his son’s dream come true and he wanted to spend a good amount of time packaging it carefully before shipping it overseas. Suddenly, he looked towards his work table. He could surely do with the second advice, he thought.

He drew out the second envelope that now lay on the top. It read: Beauty of your brand lies in the details. Make a list!” What a reminder it was! He carefully pulled out a packaging list envelopes, made a note of all the included contents, and carefully and securely attached the pressure-sensitive adhesive backing of the envelopes onto his son’s gift box. His son was extremely thrilled to receive just what he had dreamt of.
